Adventures in Writing for Canadian Television and Film
yes, huh? i'm still undecided, but leaning towards a yes too. there's lots of good stuff there, but the ending... and was the flick inspirational or just depressing? i dunno (not that a depressing movie is a bad movie)...
i'm with you. bale's performance seemed to be a bit from outer space. and the writing and direction of the first few scenes onboard the ship seemed really clunky and portented no good... but once we arrived at the camp and we were suddenly surrounded by every POW movie ever made... and then to Herzog's river... I really liked it... until again... the end... like so many things in life... it was almost enough to ruin everything that was so great that came before it.
